S KUMARS EXPORT ACTIVITY
S Kumars has been a forerunner in the textile industry for the last 5 decades, starting with a modest turn over of Rs.50 lacs in 1948 and having reached a turnover of Rs.600 crores with the contribution of exports at Rs. 60-65 crores. This growth has been facilitated and strengthened by a wide variety of products ranging from synthetic blended fabrics to house hold Linen, Damask, Towels, Furnishing Jacquard and now the latest feather in the cap is the premium poly wool production coming out from state–of–the–art integrated factory at Mysore.
Our polyester/viscose blended fabrics have generated a good demand in the markets of Syria, Cyprus, Portugal, U.K, Latin America, Mauritius and Gulf with annual export figures touching four million metres per annum.

The Home Linen Division manufacturing single yarn jacquards and 100% cotton damask  successfully caters to quality - conscious markets of Austria, Germany & West Africa.
As for our polyester/cotton sheeting unit, the company has achieved a remarkable feat of exporting 100% production from this unit to whole of Europe and this is despite the fact that the unit falls under DTA
.
The Rs. 2400 million state–of–the–art integrated all wool and polyester/wool worsted manufacturing facility is located near Mysore. The targeted sales turnover for this unit exceeds Rs. 2000 million per annum, out of which about Rs. 500 million is earmarked for the overseas markets of Fareast, Middle East, Japan, USA, Canada, West Asia, Europe even in the first year of its operation the response generated from every part of the globe where we are exporting has been overwhelming.

 S Kumars went a step further in its efforts to boost exports and establish themselves as a global entity by participating in Texworld held at Paris in October’99 and the company continues to attend this fair regularly. The encouraging response received in this textile fair has given us a motivation and enough reason to participate again in this same fair being held at Paris in March’2000.

We continue to participate in Interstoff fair regularly which is another textile fair of repute being held at Hong Kong in April ’2001.  

All these factors definitely give an impetus to our continuous on-going efforts for further strengthening of our presence in the international market thereby enabling us to export at least 20-25% of our total output.
